According to media reports, on October 27, at a training ground near the town of Mirny, near the Arkhangelsk Cosomdrome , a military KAMAZ truck driven by a 22-year-old contract soldier named Israpil Abkherdilaev ran into a convoy of 20 conscripts. One person died on the spot, the second died in the hospital. Another 11 people were taken to the hospital of the Ministry of Defense with injuries.

This is the second major incident to occur at a Russian training ground since the Belgorod shooting in which a Tajik conscript killed 29 soldiers after the commanding officer insulted the man’s Islamic faith.
