Update (0939 EST):
Both shootings appear to be hoaxes. Great news all around and thank you all for hanging in there with this dynamic reporting.
Per @MEStatePolice — multiple reports of active shooters at schools, including Sanford, across Maine are HOAXES. @YorkCountyEMA confirms. First responders tell me they are frustrated by this and how it affects their resources @newscentermaine #maine

The Maine State Police are saying that both reports, at Portland High School and Sanford High School & Regional Technical Center appear to be hoaxes, called in by the same telephone number. However, we have not received confirmation from Sanford where emergency services have made several posts indicating an active shooter situation is still active with injured victims.
Maine State Police: “(We are) aware of multiple active shooter threats that have been made at schools throughout the state. At this time these reports are believed to be a hoax. The Maine Information Analysis Center is heavily involved in coordinating these investigations.” pic.twitter.com/Y8EQMfazEG
