Videos of people clashing with Chinese authorities in Guangzhou are starting to circulate online. The location of these videos is interesting as in the past days there was massive rioting in the city of Zhengzhou. It seems these protests and riots are spreading in China.
Now, both these instances are slightly different. But both have been spurred on by China’s strict lockdowns of areas with a COVID outbreak. It will be interesting to see if civil unrest continues to grow in China.
China recorded a new record-high figure on new cases today, more than 32 000.
There are increasingly violent protests against lockdowns, as the Chinese economy has been hurt by the “Zero-Cases Doctrine”.
This video was recorded in Guangzhou.
