The Japan Air Self-Defense Force flew for the first time a new RQ-4B Global Hawk drone.
The drone comes from American defense company Northrop Grumman and the drone was first delivered to the Japanese back in March of this year.
The militarization of the Japanese military is definitely an interesting topic that deserves to be followed closely as tensions with China rise.
Dec 21, #JASDF conducted the first flight of the #GlobalHawk. The GH has information-gathering ability in relatively remote areas from Japan and monitors constantly from the air during contingencies, which contributes to reinforce the ISR capabilities of JSDF & #JapanUSAlliance. pic.twitter.com/73SrtN0ddl
