On November 1st, 2022 Israel held elections for the 120 members of the 25th Knesset. The results saw the right-wing national camp of former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu achieving a parliamentary majority, amid losses for left-wing and Arab parties, as well as far-right gains. Moments ago, Israeli Prime Minister-designate made a cryptic tweet which reportedly signals he has formed a government and will deliver to President Isaac Herzog, a mere two days before the official deadline and seven weeks after the election.

Now the right leaning Israeli government will seek to fulfill its election promises to the Israeli people and the coalition which involves legislative action to appoint a wide swath of ministers and expanding government power. Netanyahu has several appointments to positions of power including Religious Zionism leader Bezalel Smotrich and Otzma Yehudit’s leader Itamar Ben Gvir who pledged their support to forming this government.
So far the negotiations between Netanyahu and Gvir has been revealed to include appointment of ally judges and legislation which protects IDF soldiers from criminal charges in discharge of their duties, according to Israeli media.
Netenyahu has reportedly told President Herzog the new government will be sworn in on January 2nd.
Smotrich also followed up with his own tweet:
