One hour ago, multiple explosions were reported on Zmiinyi, Island also known as Snake Island as 3 Russian Raptor Class speed boats sped out towards open ocean. Ukrainian Armed Forces Operational Command Sough reported this. However, five minutes ago Russian state owned media reported that Russian forces have left the island “as a gesture of good will”.

The Russian Defense Ministry told press that withdrawal from the island signals to the United Nations that the Russian Federation will not obstruct a humanitarian grain corridor for exports from Ukraine, despite the fact that Russias position on the island has become untenable after multiple Airstrikes by Ukrainian Air Force TB-2s and tactical aircraft.

The island was seized on February 24th, 2022 after a pitched battle between Ukrainian Navy speed boats and a Russian Black Sea Fleet detachment led by the now sunk cruiser Moskva.
