Antonovsky Bridge Reportedly Destroyed

Update (1938 EST) Kirril Stremousov, deputy head of the provisional administration of the Kherson region (Russian installed) said this:

“I want to reassure many – the bridge is standing. The bridge, in fact, was shelled. But this does not mean that we should be afraid of someone there,”in a video message published on his Telegram channel.

Social media users in Telegram and Twitter are reporting that the Antonovsky Bridge in Kherson Oblast. This vital crossing point utilized by Russian Ground Forces has already been targeted by U.S. made HIMARS  in the past week, causing significant  structural damage, but still allowing civilian traffic.

According to civilian sources, the bridge has been destroyed. While the Russian Ministry of Defense has claimed that air defense systems destroyed all projectiles fired at the bridge and that any damage is a result of debris from the destroyed projectiles. However, the above video does seem to refute those claims.

The Antonivka Road Bridge, also known as Antonovsky Bridge(or the alternative spellings Antonovskiy Bridge and Antonovskyi Bridge), is a bridge that crosses the Dnieper river in Kherson, Kherson Oblast, southern Ukraine. (Wiki) The Ukrainians lost the bridge on February 26th, 2022 after fierce fighting in the Battle of Kherson, but struck it twice on July 19th and 20th with HIMARS delivered by the U.S.
