Update (2108 EST): No Tsunami threat has been issued by the Filipino government. Australian government corroborating no Tsunami threat to Australia.

Update (2106 EST): The Senate Building in Manila is currently evacuating all employees.


The Australian Government Geoscience Department has just announced the epicenter of a 7.1 magnitude earthquake has been detected in Luzon Philippines.

On July 16th, 1990 more than 1,600 people were killed in a 7.8 magnitude quake in Luzon.
