Self-Declared Luhansk People’s Republic Removes Accreditation of ICRC from Territory

Date:

According to Russian-state owned media, the Luhansk Peoples Republic has removed the accreditation for the International Red Cross, thus potentially disallowing the non-profit to operate within the LPR. The statement reads:

”According to the results of the consideration on September 21 of this year by the Interdepartmental Commission for the Accreditation of Foreign Non-Commercial, International Organizations and Humanitarian Missions in the Luhansk People’s Republic of the issue of the implementation status of the agreed humanitarian programs by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the work of the office of the ICRC sub-delegation in the city of Luhansk was recognized as unsatisfactory, and a decision was made about the deprivation of the head of the office, Miriam Favier, of the accreditation card,” the source said.
