These pictures as well as a claim that Kim Jong-Un presided over the launch of two cruise missiles were published today by DPRK media. The launch reportedly occurred on October 12th (local), so earlier today if not yesterday in the U.S. North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency said the two missiles during Wednesday’s tests flew for nearly three hours, drawing oval and figure eight-shaped patterns above its western seas, and showed that they can hit targets 2,000 kilometers (1,240 miles) away.

No detection of a launch was registered by the South Koreans or Japanese who usually alert their citizens. It is possible that the launch of the cruise missiles went undetected. It is also possible they did not occur or these governments declined to alert their citizenry to conceal sensitive detection technology of cruise missiles that fly at a low altitude.
